Welcome to the CCP Exhibit Guide!
The Exhibit Guide has four major sections:
1. Designing your exhibit
In the first section, a set of exercises will prompt you and/or your class to design your exhibit for the CCP website. These exercises are necessary, no matter who completes them, because they help us translate our traditional research practices into design steps that lead to engaging public digital exhibits.
2. Resources & Requirements
In the second section, we have a set of resources and requirements. As resources, we provide our Editorial Manual and a list of proven (and pre-approved) data visualization tools. As requirements, we provide rules for image captions, file names, and copyright and permissions. These rules will help ensure that we don’t have to remove the exhibit from the CCP website for any legal problems. We care deeply about the exhibits and want to make sure they get out into the world!
3. Building your exhibit
In the third section, a set of tutorials explains how to build the exhibit on our WordPress site using the Divi visual page builder. These tutorials provide everything you need to know for creating all of the pages and parts of an exhibit.
4. Final Steps
At the end of the process, teaching partners should complete the CCP Exhibit Checklist Form. Before we can publish any exhibits for public view, we have to ensure that all of the standards have been met. By completing this form, you can help speed up the review and publishing process. We are grateful for your diligence and the generous contributions of all of our teaching partners and classes.
(And don’t forget to share the process!)
Lastly, we encourage you to share the process of designing and building an exhibit on social media. Post your reactions, surprises, or team sessions on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram. Tag us, and we’ll make sure to amplify your voice. Let’s share the process of creating new knowledge together!
